Hole 1 Par 4 HDCP 3
White: 386Y
The first hole at Palm Hills Golf Resort is straight and flat, offering a sense of liberation, perfect for confidently taking your tee shot.
Around the green
Around the green, there is one guard bunker on the front left, and two on the front and back right.
While aiming for the back of the green to avoid the bunkers is tempting, be cautious as the back is sloped and can cause the ball to roll off. It’s safer to aim from the front and let the ball roll towards the target.
Approach shot
Although the fairway is flat without much slope, considering the guard bunkers on both sides near the green and the slope at the back of the green, it’s advisable to aim for a spot just before the bunkers for your approach shot without overreaching.
If the approach shot is over a fairway bunker, then it’s also a good strategy to ambitiously aim directly for the green.
Tee shot
While the hole is straight and flat, be cautious of the fairway bunkers on both sides at the second shot point (about 200 yards ahead). If you’re content with your approach shot landing before the green, then for the tee shot, aim accurately straight ahead without overreaching to clear the bunkers.
Contrary to its appearance, Hole #1 is a challenging HDCP 3 hole.
